On The Move!
Living Well Church has been on the move since we began in 2005. Since that time we have met at the Quality Inn Conference Room, the Plaza Cinema Movie Theater, the former Lighthouse Cafe and most recently the former Kline’s Department Store facility which we are now in. In each of these moves our leadership team has sought to locate, secure and utilize properties that help Living Well Church best live out the Great Commission of sharing the Good News of Jesus. This Great Commission is given by Jesus to be lived out by all Christians from North to South and from East to West. We fulfill this worldwide mission every day in our local contexts as we fully surrender our lives to the Lordship of Jesus.

Just as every person is different, so is every local church. As members of Living Well we also have a uniquely created DNA divinely ordered by God that allows us to fulfill the specific mission he has given to our local congregation. Part of our unique identity as a local church can be explained in three core values:
#1. Because property ownership can become “all consuming” on a church budget, we believe it is better to “major in people rather than property”. This freedom allows us to stay light on our feet and invest more dollars in doing ministry rather than creating a place to do ministry.
#2 We believe that instead of creating yet another church structure and inviting people to come to us, we desire to be the church in the community by being the church “where the people already are.” This is further exemplified in our designation of the space where we meet as a “Community Room” rather than a “Church.” For us, part of sharing Christ is developing relationships with our community. We enjoy being good stewards of the resources God sends our way and we enjoy being good tenants to landowners who are already investing heavily in the vitality of our beautiful downtown.
#3. Further we believe that while “property” isn’t our “main thing” it is definitely “a thing.” An adequate place to invite people to experience God in worship is very important component of our outreach philosophy. We believe that a vital piece contributing to effectiveness in reaching our community for Christ is our providing a clean, dry, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, fully functional place for people to experience God through worship. This is important enough to our Church Board Trustees that we stay intentional about making sure these basic bases are covered.

Thank you for voicing some very real concerns regarding matters of current property and facility. Thank you for your patience in these matters, as the last thing we want to do is allow barriers for newcomers finding Christ within our sphere of influence to remain unaddressed. Our Trustees have been intentional about doing what we can for the “property issues” of our church while continuing to pursue other possibilities regarding property that may in fact be a better fit for our mission. While it would be premature to make public announcements of plans that are in the works, suffice to say…exciting things are on the horizon! Our Trustees have been working hard to pursue God’s preferred future for Living Well Church and believe that there is a high degree of probability that God is leading us in making a change.
